MY TOP 5 SUMMER TRENDS
A beautiful summer is upon us which is the perfect occasion to celebrate our social spaces and breathe fresh life into our backyards, patios, and balconies! With so many interesting products and choices available, it can be challenging to choose my favourite summer go to décor tips! So, I have worked hard to narrow it down to my top five summer trends which are no fail when it comes to creating high style in any gathering spot. Grab a glass of Kim Crawford Rosé (my personal favourite), relax and enjoy the following trends that you can easily incorporate into your space.
#1. SOCIABLE SPACES
You may have guessed that this would be top of my list! After being cooped up inside, we are ready to pull together any type of intimate gathering space that we can. Even if you have small a corner to dress up there is a cozy solution for you. Look at how inviting this balcony space looks!
#2. CHIC PICNICS
That’s right! Having a luxurious picnic has made a huge comeback. The nostalgia associated with a fancy picnic outside feels glamourous and fun. Whether you are enjoying your own backyard Rosé picnic or taking your picnic on the road, pack a basket, a pretty blanket and some snacks – you’re all set!
#3. COLOUR AND PATTERN
Colour and pattern are the language of design FUN! That’s why this trend is one I live by year-round. The diversity of small business print shops and local fabricators has given way too many new and interesting design choices that are sure to inject summer energy into your indoor or outdoor spaces! There are no hard rules to pattern play – just have fun and pull together what makes you feel great!
#4. MIX AND MATCH PATIO FURNITURE
Ditch the sets when it comes to furniture shopping. The most inviting summer patios are ones that are character filled. To create a more curated look in your back yard incorporate durable side tables or accessories that would commonly be found indoors. Voila! Now your gathering space won’t look like everyone else’s.
#5. RELAXING WATER FEATURES
The sounds of nature and water create a beautiful courtyard feel. Incorporating a tabletop or wall mounted water feature is guaranteed to create a relaxing outdoor oasis. A water feature also serves as an interesting focal point to a gathering space – all you need is a wall plug! The pump simply recirculates the water.
This blog feature was created in support of my friends at Kim Crawford Wine– all opinions are my own.
