As the holiday season approaches I thought I would share with you 3 easy and affordable steps to creating a glamorous holiday tablescape with on trend holiday décor items that I picked up at Walmart – the perfect one stop shop for groceries AND decorating..you know what aisle you’ll find me in!

I have quite a neutral palette in my home because I like to change up my décor often. White walls and lots of black and white base pieces allow me the flexibility to change things up depending on the trends of the season.  This year I will be celebrating the holidays at my condo on the west coast-this means that blues, teals and white are at the top my list when it comes to creating that glamourous, modern vibe I’m going for. I’m excited to share with you what I’ve come up with because I think it’s the perfect look that transitions well from a more formal sit down dinner to a casual brunch or buffet.

Step 1: Create a clean back drop

I have selected a white and silver tablecloth as the base to my holiday table décor. This forms the perfect back drop for my dishware and creates an instant festive feel. The graphic pattern of this table cloth is perfect for joining together on larger tables, comes in a few different sizes and washes up easily.

Step 2: Layers in dishware and glasses

Charger plates are a pretty and practical way to add interest to your dining table. They create a feeling of importance for each table setting and allow you to build up your dishes for a more interesting look. I chose to use silver chargers because I like the formality that they add to my clean white plates. I also opted to add some nice new grey utensils to my holiday table this year because the color is perfect for my scheme plus they are a super affordable price! Next let’s talk about glassware, there are so many pretty wine glasses this time of year but these ombre wine glasses really caught my eye. The mix of translucent and silver feels luxurious and adds height and glamour to the table. I will also be gifting some of these glasses this year! I am a fan of the tiered serving dishes because they maximize space on the table and work well for a buffet setting as well.

Step 3: Bring on the glamour

This is when it’s time to crank up the holiday tunes and let your creativity flow! Adding sparkle to your tabletop is fun and easy because Walmart holiday décor pieces are such great designs- how cute are the snowy pyramid trees I added as my center piece?! They create a wintery feel and don’t obstruct guests view across the dinner table, plus the glitzy star wall hangings reflect light beautifully.  Next, it’s time to add in some of those blues and teals that I wanted to round out my festive look add a pop of color to the scheme. The shatterproof ornaments are the perfect trendy color tones and look like pretty frozen glass. I wanted to amp up the drama in my dining area so I have hung the ornaments with pretty ribbon from the ceiling, this would look so nice hanging from a chandelier as well!

Now that my table decorating is looking so pretty and sparkly there is only one thing left to do before guests arrive-add a take home gift to each place setting. Giving ornaments as a token of friendships to my guests is one of my favorite holiday traditions, these pretty star tinsel ones are affordable and suit everyone’s décor.

I hope you enjoyed learning these three easy steps and will have fun shopping in store or at Walmart.ca for all the hottest holiday items I used to create this modern look.

Happy Holidays,

Amanda
